AI Ethics & Compliance Partnership Opportunity

Perth, WA, Australia

Tricore Tech | Co-Founder Partnership

Perth, Western Australia (Hybrid Working) | Equity Partnership | Ground Floor Opportunity

We Need a Legal Co-Founder

We're building the only Perth firm offering both AI implementation and ethical governance under one roof - and we need a legal partner to make it happen.

TRICORE TECH launches in 2025-2026 with a mission: "Beyond Digital. Genuinely Human." We're proving that AI implementation can be commercially successful AND ethically sound - that businesses can adopt AI confidently because they have partners who understand both technical possibilities and ethical boundaries.

Our founding team: We're mid-career professionals bringing 15-25 years of experience across strategic business development, marketing and design, and deep technical AI capability. We've learned hard lessons building careers, navigating markets, and understanding what actually matters. Now we're ready to build something that reflects those insights.

We're deliberately staying artisan-scale - close to clients, personal relationships, genuine partnerships. We're the antithesis of impersonal big consulting firms or transactional law practices. And we're actively pursuing clients in healthcare, legal, manufacturing, and professional services across Perth and Western Australia.

The Market Opportunity

Australian businesses face an AI paradox: they want the benefits but fear the risks. The WA Government AI Assurance Framework is establishing new standards. Federal AI regulations are emerging. Privacy Act compliance is non-negotiable.

Yet the market offers only incomplete solutions. Tech vendors sell AI tools without helping clients navigate governance or ethical implications. Law firms advise on compliance but lack technical depth for practical implementation decisions.

We're building the third way: Holistic AI implementation from initial risk assessment through ethical deployment to ongoing governance - with legal compliance woven throughout, not bolted on afterward.

What You'll Build

After 3-6 months learning our clients, approach, and business model, you'll have full autonomy to build and scale the AI Ethics & Compliance practice. This includes:

Core services:

  • Risk management assessment helping clients identify and quantify AI risks before deployment
  • Governance frameworks for ethical AI implementation
  • Privacy Act and emerging AI regulation compliance advisory
  • Vendor evaluation for clients assessing AI solution providers
  • Incident response when AI implementations create issues

Your path: Start by working alongside us, understanding our holistic approach. Then lead the AI ethics vertical independently, developing it as our business growth demands. Potentially hire junior legal talent as we scale. Build the practice you wish existed.

What We Need From You

Essential:

  • Law degree (Australian qualified or clear admission pathway)
  • Genuine interest in AI, data privacy, technology law - not just theoretical analysis
  • Builder mindset - comfortable with ambiguity, excited by creating frameworks from scratch
  • Frustrated with big firm bureaucracy and ready to build something more personal, more genuine
  • Perth-based with flexible hybrid arrangements (2-3 days weekly for client meetings, co-working sessions, and team collaboration - primarily in Perth CBD or client sites; remote work other days structured around your schedule)

Ideal:

  • 5-10 years post-qualification experience, OR
  • Junior lawyer (0-3 years) with exceptional technical skills, hunger, and big motivation to build something from scratch
  • Technology law, IP law, data governance, or risk management background
  • Entrepreneurial drive

Partnership Terms

This is NOT a job offer. This is equity partnership.

What we're offering:

  • Negotiable equity stake reflecting your experience and commitment (15-25% range)
  • Strategic voice in company direction as founding partner
  • Revenue model: Self-funded startup with no salaries initially. Once we secure clients, revenue flow follows this priority: (1) Direct operational costs (insurance, software, compliance), (2) Partner working time compensation at agreed rates based on contribution, (3) Remaining profits distributed according to equity stakes.
  • Full autonomy after consolidation period to build and lead AI ethics vertical
  • Flexible Perth-based arrangement: 2-3 days weekly for client meetings and team collaboration, remote work other days

The reality: This is genuine work with shared risk initially. But you're building equity, not billing hours. Creating frameworks that will guide an industry, not reacting to partner demands. Shaping strategy, not following it.

How partnership works in practice: You'll join as an equal equity partner from day one with full strategic voice in company direction. The 3-6 month consolidation period isn't probation - it's practical onboarding where you learn our clients, understand our approach, and co-develop the AI ethics offering with us. During this time, we make decisions collaboratively. Post-consolidation, you have full operational autonomy over the AI ethics vertical while remaining a strategic partner in overall company direction. Think of it as: we decide together where the company goes, you decide independently how your practice gets there.

Why This is Different

If you're in traditional legal practice: You're billing hours, not building equity. Reacting to problems, not preventing them. Confined by firm precedent, not creating frameworks. Chasing targets set by others, not shaping direction. Here, you'll build something that's yours.

If you're junior and ambitious: Skip years of grinding billable hours for someone else's equity. Build the practice from day one. Learn from experienced co-founders while having real autonomy. Get mentorship on business strategy alongside legal work. Create the career path you want, not the one assigned to you.

If you're considering a career pivot: This is your chance to apply legal expertise to the most important technology question of our time: how do we deploy AI responsibly? You'll establish frameworks Australian businesses will use for years to come.

What makes us different: We're experienced professionals who've built careers and know what we want to create. We value wisdom from experience - including mistakes. We respect work-life balance because we've learned that lesson. We communicate directly, honestly, with mutual respect. And we're intentionally staying boutique where every client relationship matters and we can maintain ethics-first approach without compromise.

Our Approach

We operate on these principles:

  • Transparency over polish: Honest about trade-offs rather than overselling
  • Ethics over expedience: We walk away from clients wanting us to rubber-stamp questionable AI use
  • Collaboration over hierarchy: Best idea wins
  • Artisan over industrial: Personal relationships, not process-driven transactions
  • Launch and iterate: Ship working solutions and improve them
  • Shared risk, shared reward: We're in this together

We're self-funded founders investing our own time and expertise to develop this company to the next level - no outside investors, no venture capital pressures, just us building something we believe in. And we need the right partner to make it happen.
